These nine members will form the Board of Directors for the next term, out of a total of 32 candidates. Prior to the election, outgoing Chairman Emad bin Mohsen Al-Shanfari reviewed the Society’s achievements over the past two years, describing it as a “founding phase” after separating from the Oman Cinema Society, highlighting the acquisition of a permanent headquarters, annual government support, numerous initiatives, support for theater professionals and troupes, and backing local and international festivals held in Oman. The administrative and financial reports were presented, with former Board member Abdulaziz Al-Habsi providing detailed activity statistics and Saud Al-Khanjari, former Treasurer, outlining expenses of around OMR 130,000 and revenues of OMR 100,000 in government support plus approximately OMR 3,600 from membership fees, leaving the Society with a current balance of OMR 183,000. The session concluded with the opening of a discussion, followed by outgoing Board members submitting their resignations, paving the way for electronic voting for both in-person and virtual participants.
