Al-Wasal – Madiha Al-Sulaimani Oman: The “Cooperation” list, headed by Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Al-Araimi, won the presidency of the Board of Directors of the Omani Journalists Association, securing 66% of the votes from 399 participating media professionals. Dr. Al-Araimi, who will serve his fourth consecutive term as president, competed against the “Leadership and Development” list led by Hatem bin Hamad Al-Ta’i, which received 117 votes, and the “Progress” list led by Shura Council member Ali bin Khalfan Al-Husni, which received 17 votes. Two ballots were excluded due to unclear voting, following a vote count supervised by a neutral committee chaired by lawyer Dr. Ahmed Al-Jahouri. The winning “Cooperation” list includes Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Al-Araimi, Dr. Khalid Al-Adawi, Salem Al-Jahouri, Basel Al-Rawas, Talib Al-Dabbari, Yousuf Al-Hooti, Mustafa Al-Maamari, Dr. Khadija Al-Shihya, Khalfan Al-Husni, Saeed Al-Nahdi, Omar Al-Zadjali, and Mohammed Al-Ma’awli. Prior to the elections, the general assembly convened with 378 members present out of 456 to review the administrative and financial reports. Secretary Talib Al-Dabbari presented the administrative report, highlighting key activities, events, and collaborations of the association over the past two years, while Treasurer Khalfan Al-Husni presented the financial report, detailing expenditures and revenues, noting a financial surplus of OMR 419,377 at the time of the report.
